We would like to advise you on some changes we have implemented to comply with the new government regulations on single-use plastic items. Following the new legislation on the Product Eco-responsibility (Amendment) Ordinance 2023, the first phase of the regulations takes effect on April 22, 2024.
As such, hotels can no longer provide certain single-use plastic items like bathroom amenities in plastic container/wrappings, drinking water in plastic bottles etc., for free to guests. To comply with these regulations while still providing amenities to our guests, we have installed a vending machine at 5/F MTV Lounge for the sale of individually-packed amenity items (comb, shaving kit and shower cap) as well as bottled drinking water at a nominal cost.
We are committed to supporting the global efforts to reduce plastic pollution with the aim of a sustained environmental practice. While these changes may cause some inconvenience initially, we hope you understand and support us in building a greener future.
